Good to know
Under new ownership and management as of March 2026, this property is starting an exciting new chapter. The previous owner earned over 150 wonderful Airbnb reviews, but unfortunately those reviews cannot be transferred to the new listing. The good news: the new owner has already made major improvements, including a new roof, updated water system, new and refinished flooring, and fresh paint, all designed to make this already special waterfront stay even better. Main house + guest house sit on 4 waterfront acres, set up to make the most of the water views. The main home was originally built in the 1800s and has been updated with care not to compromise its character—comfortable year-round, with a cook’s kitchen and a few easy “hang out” spaces. The wide porch has Adirondack chairs and a simple, relaxing view of the water. Bedrooms Main house: 6 bedrooms / 3 full baths Upstairs: 4 queen bedrooms (2 face the water, 2 face the woods) + 1 full bath Downstairs: 1 bedroom with 3 twins (bunk bed + twin) and great water views, plus another bedroom with 2 twins + 2 full baths Guest house: Studio-style space with king bed, full bath, and a balcony (see photos). Bathrooms Main house has 3 full baths: Upstairs bath: walk-in shower First-floor bath near kitchen: walk-in shower + washer/dryer Second first-floor bath: tub/shower combo Guest house bath: walk-in shower
House Rules
Please Do Not…. Please do not leave Kayaks out near the water. Put them back in the shed or if you plan on using them again soon, leave them in the short grass next to the picnic table. Please do not leave windows without screens or doors open. Please close doors immediately or flies will come in. Please don't smoke inside the house or on the deck, porches, or dock. Please don’t flush anything besides toilet paper – we have an off-the-grid septic system. Please do not leave windows open if A/c or heat is engaged. Plus, we prefer for our bug friends to live outside. Please do not pour grease down the drain. Please do not burn trash in the fire pits. Please do not bring pets that haven’t been approved. Please do not leave pets in the house alone.

Like any 1800s home, it’s got some personality. It’s clean, comfortable, and works well—just expect charm over ‘cookie-cutter new.’ Which is why I bought it! If you want a private waterfront spot that feels one-of-a-kind, this is it! Thanks - Bob

Accessibility and Availability
Neighborhood
The house is located in Princess Anne, Maryland. Nearby towns and attractions include: Salisbury Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge Ocean City Cambridge St. Michael’s Easton. Ellis Bay Our house looks out on to Ellis Bay Wildlife Management Area (WMA) - a 3,200-acre wet wonderland. It is perfect habitat for ducks and wading birds, like herons and egrets. To protect Chesapeake Bay wetlands, this area was purchased by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources in 1957 and has been offering outdoor and nature enthusiasts recreational opportunities ever since. Ellis Bay WMA is best seen by boat. Boat ramps, including one located on the property and others located nearby, provide convenient access. The many creeks that dissect the marsh offer views into the lives of the marshlands wildlife. Herons and egrets can be observed as they stalk their favorite fish. Between April and September, you may see the glossy ibis probing its long bill into the mud for small worms and crustaceans. Bald eagles soar overhead in search of a meal, while barn owls nest in boxes provided for them in the marsh. Hiking & Biking Walking and biking along our road is a great way to see nature and birds, especially red-winged blackbirds, herons, and the occasional bald eagle. You can bike starting from the end of our driveway on an official bike path. Start: Mt. Vernon Road (where road begins) End: Manokin River Park, Princess Anne You will ride east & south on this trail. Please follow the biking icon signs you will see on the side of the roads. Deal Island Wild Management Area (WMA) is a 13,000 acre property that contains forested wetlands and a 2,800-acre man-made pond or "impoundment." The water insects and crustaceans, as well as the abundance of wigeongrass, horned pondweed and other favorite waterfowl foods makes Deal Island one of the best places in Maryland to bird watch. Ducks! Geese! Swans! Waterfowl are the featured performers on Deal Island. Many, many species of waterfowl, in all their colorful splendor, nest, feed and migrate through this area. Deal Island also supports one of the largest concentrations in the state of herons, egrets and ibis. One of Maryland's only breeding population of black-necked stilts thrive there. The rare Eurasian wigeon, a type of duck, is frequently seen in the large flocks of American wigeon that spend the winter in Maryland. Hikers and all-terrain bicyclists will enjoy the trail around the marsh impoundment, watching the resting waterfowl or capturing them on film. Pemberton Historical Park is also close to the house. The park is comprised of 262 acres and 4.5 miles of nature trails, offering visitors the opportunity to explore unique ecosystems that bring together tidal and fresh water wetlands, fresh water ponds, upland pines, hardwood forests and meadows. The trails at Pemberton Park are restricted to walking and hiking only. Due to safety concerns, no biking is permitted. Pick up a trail guide in the Welcome Area which outlines each loop of the trail, describes its major ecosystems and denotes any significant features that may be found along the way. Golf Great Hope Golf Course: 20 minutes from the house, nestled in the wetlands of Somerset County, Maryland lies “one of the most beautiful golf courses on the Eastern Seaboard”. Designed by the world-renowned golf architect, Dr. Michael J. Hurdzan, also known for designing the 2017 US Open course – Erin Hills in Wisconsin. The 7000-yard championship course stands as a popular site for avid golfers. Amenities * 18-hole pristine golf course * Restaurant * Club house with store * Pavilion with picnic tables * Location: 8380 Crisfield Hwy. Westover, MD 21871 Breweries & Winery The Public House, home to Evolution Brewery, is in Salisbury. When we eat out, 90 percent of the time we go here. It was voted "Best New Restaurant in 2012" by Metropolitan Magazine Readers. Located adjacent to the brewery in the southwest side of the building, you will find a unique atmosphere unlike any other local restaurant. It is hard to believe this building once housed the Salisbury Ice Plant and each room was once a big freezer. Now creatively designed with a sleek urban feel, you will find a welcoming environment. A large exposed brick wall in the bar area features a giant chalkboard that showcases fresh cheese and meat selections, creative daily Chef’s features, as well as a listing of available eVo beers. The Public House menu offers seasonally selected items as well as some traditional pub favorites. Bordeleau Vineyards and Winery is located in nearby Eden. The scenic vineyard has a tasting room and lots of outdoor spaces for sipping wine while enjoying nature. Tall Tales Brewing Company, 6929 Heron Grove Ct, Parsonsburg, MD 21849 Burley Oak Brewing Company, 10016 Old Ocean City Blvd, Berlin, MD 21811 RAR Brewing, 504 Poplar St, Cambridge, MD 21613 Grocery In the town of Princess Anne is a big grocery store called Food Lion. There are more grocery options nearby in Salisbury. Close to the Food Lion is the Beach to Bay Seafood Company (address below). We love their seafood as do many others. If you want to have seafood for lunch or dinner we recommend going there to do carry out. Their dine-in atmosphere isn’t awesome, but their food is awesome. Typically we buy their non-cooked seafood (to make at the house), the clam chowder, and their crab cakes. Beach to Bay Seafood Company 12138 Carole Ln, Princess Anne, MD 21853
